Dichroic fused glass link cabochon bracelet, red, gold

This is another one of those little wonders that just happens in my studio. Playing with my glass in my studio, I got these awesome square cabochons of a dark red glass topped with a smaller dichroic square in gold, yellow and some orange. They are all somewhat the same and yet they are all different. The dichroic square is sometimes yellow gold, then maybe more orange gold or some more blue. And then I just give up wondering about what color and enjoy the changing colors.
The silver plated link bracelet has 11 cabochons and measures 7 inches (18 cm) and has an easy to handle snap closure.

Dichroic glass pieces can be difficult to photograph as the colors can change based on the light conditions, glare and depth of colors and layers. I try my best to show their true nature in the photographs using natural light or special natural spectrum light bulbs.
Also, colors might be slightly different in real life (usually way more intense and interesting), because each monitor has it’s own display settings. Please email me if you have any questions about the colors.

All of my jewelry comes packaged in a silver foiled gift box.
The plates, bowls, coasters and other larger items will be well wrapped and packaged for their trip.

All my pieces are unique handmade products. I make them in my home studio.
Each piece is made with several layers of glass. The glass is then fused together in a kiln and annealed (= cooled at a low rate to ensure settling of the molecules, which in turn gives durablity and strenght to the glass). To get the desired look they may be shaped, grinded or cut and heated again to get the desired style. Each piece is individually made. With similar glass and patterns I can try to make similar designs, but there will always be differences. I love that!

Sometimes bubbles occur in the glass. This is due to tiny bits of air that are trapped between two layers of glass. Eventhough it wasn’t part of the original design, it usually enhances it. It’s as if it creates another dimension…….
