Caroline4art -------The Window Gallery                             Caroline Verhagen

Dear reader

This is the first one of what I hope will be many newsletters. I am planning to keep you posted as to what is happening with me and my
art.  The first thing I need to tell you about is rather sad. The Window Gallery has to close. This is very unfortunate and we hope to find a
better and bigger location in the near future. In the mean time life goes on and so do we. We will keep doing our own thing.
In my case that means I keep designing and firing those great fused glass jewelry pieces. I have added some nice glass sculptures of
seahorses and fish and a couple of plates with seahorses.
Next to that I just finished a series of 9 little seahorses. Great to mix and match to your own taste.  I am also doing a series of 8"-10"
acrylic paintings of the Mission San Juan Capistrano.  And just to show you how busy I've been, I am putting the finishing touches on my
new website. It has some similarities with the old one, but it is easier to download. The new address is: www.caroline4art.com.  On the
home page you can see some of what I have just created and on the New page you can find them all.

Currently I have 5 paintings on exhibit in the community center of Laguna Hills, on the corner of Alicia and Paseo de Valencia. I have one
color pencil portrait up there, a painting with several lovely seahorses and 3 orchids in watercolor and ink. You can see them any time the
center is open.

Coming up is an outdoor show I will be attending in Rancho Santa Margarita. It is their first annual "Taste of Rancho" festival, on Sept. 2
and it takes place on the field next to the library, which is located on El Portal.  I will be there in booth nr. 2 and I will bring most all of my
fused glass jewelry, incl. the cuff link and bugs and some original art and most of my reprints, incl. some of the little seahorses and the
Mission paintings. If you are planning to attend and you have a specific request, please contact me through my website or just hit reply. I
will bring it if I can.

Thank you for all your support.
I hope to see you on one of my upcoming shows.

Hi Everyone

Don't you feel time is running away with you? I certainly do. It is already nearing the end of October, the kids are all excited about
Halloween and I'm already thinking about Christmas. In between all that I have been quite busy. Last month I had two wonderful shows, I
really enjoyed them. Thank you for visiting me there and I am sure you are enjoying your purchases........

In September I also took part in the annual 'Paint the Lake" festival of the Lake Mission Viejo Association. I entered with my "Fun in the
Sun" painting of a little girl playing in the water with a big bucket. (see attachment below) I had a lot of people vote for me and a lot of
wonderful comments. Several families recognized their daughter in the picture. I love that because it means that the picture in itself
makes you remember again some wonderful cherised memories. And that is what I wanted. That is what a painting should be about, to
generate a feeling or emotion. Unfortunately I didn't win, but I am still very happy about the event and I am looking forward to participating
again next year. It does mean the painting is for sale, so anyone who is interested.....

I have been very busy in the glass department. I have added some new items and I'm very excited about them. I am wearing one of them
right now! I made some lovely link bracelets, I have several different colors and I carry two different sizes. I also made more rings. These
rings are adjustable so easy to put on or take off! And.... for the gentlemen..... I made more cufflinks and even some matching sets of
cufflinks and a tieclip. They are beautifull!! Since I have had some requests, I have also added ear clips and smaller pendants. These
pendants go for as low as $10,- . Do come and check them out.

Remember I am always in for requests. So far I have made flowers, hummingbirds, star of David, crosses and even pendants in the
shape of Lake Tahoe!! I love requests. It makes me think some more and explore my possibilities.

In the next couple of weeks you can find me here:
Saturday October 28 at the Fall Craft Show in Rancho Santa Margarita, next to the library from 10am till 4pm.
Saturday November 4 at the annual Holiday Faire at the Irvine Fine Arts Center (14321 Yale Avenue Irvine) from 9 am till 4 pm. I have
booth LP5 which means you can find me on the patio in the back. The Center does ask everyone over 13 to give a donation of 2,- since it
is a fundraiser for the programs at the Center.

I do hope to see many of you at one of these venues. If you are unable to come but would like to see some of my work, please contact me
and we will set up an appointment. If you would like me to show my work at you workplace or school, I would be more than happy to.
My website ( www.Caroline4art.com ) is running smoothly now and you can always reach me at Caroline@caroline4art.com.

Sincerely
Caroline Verhagen
